Originators Designation:
2K22M Tunguska
NATO Reporting Name: SA-19 Grison
Description: The 2K22M "Tunguska" (Russian: 2К22M ""Тунгуска") (NATO reporting name: SA-19 "Grison") is a Russian, mobile, self-propelled, short range air defense (SHORAD) system designed to protect motorized and mechanized forces from low-flying aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and precision-guided munitions. "2К22M" is the GRAU designation of the system.

The 2K22M Tunguska-M is an upgraded variant of the 9K22 Tunguska. Mounted on a tracked chassis, the system combines radar-guided target acquisition with twin 30mm autocannons and surface-to-air missiles, allowing it to engage threats across both medium and close ranges in all weather conditions. The 2K22M searches for and tracks targets using its HOT SHOT radar, but the missile itself is guided via SACLOS (Semi-Automatic Command to Line-Of-Sight) command guidance, similar in concept to the Rapier system. At close range, the Tunguska can engage targets with its cannons while continuing to track via radar.
Compared to earlier Tunguska variants, the 2K22M features improved radar performance, fire-control systems, target tracking, and missile capability, enhancing effectiveness against modern low-signature and high-speed aerial threats while retaining the mobility needed to accompany armored and mechanized formations.

Defensive Maneuvers:
Primarily a threat to CAS aircraft. Due to its optically guided missiles, chaff has no effect, and it may launch without warning. But it typically uses search/track radar for initial acquisition. Chaff has no effect. Maintain 5M+ distance, attack with standoff missiles. If you are attacked, maneuver aggressively and seek terrain masking.
