Simshaker DIY Mod

There has been alot of discussion and curiosity lately on Simshaker vibration/bass immersion effects for our DCS setups so I figured I would make a post.

(Mounted under sim chair). Best to mount it on a piece of wood bolted between chair stem and seat. Doesnt have to be perfect, I used some old scrap wood

Was around $58 off Amazon in total. Plus the $30 Andre Simshaker Sound module software.

If you just use 1 transducer like I did, that is all you will need. With that amp, its plug and play as long as you buy that seperate 10ft usb chord. I set the amp right next to the speaker and used its stocked speaker wire. If you want to route more than 1 speaker, then yeah it is probably best to buy extra speaker wire. That amp I used also acts as a mini soundcard: https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Blu...t=&hvlocphy=9025236&hvtargid=pla-386638756233

For the price, its been GREAT. I have never used the Buttkickers version - but simply buying the Dayton audio transducer speaker, and that mini soundcard/amp - its been well worth it for my setup. I have the mini amp at about half volume right now and really do feel much more situational awareness in flight. Here is the current settings I have for the F16:

The main "con" I can see with going this route rather than buying the Buttkicker marketed product, is that you will need to mount and wire this yourself. Guessing it will be mounted under your chair like mine. Super easy DIY project - aslong as you have the tools and a piece of wood to do it.

This video gives you an idea of what the project would consist of,

I've been using the Butt Kicker system for quite some time now , I agree with Wing, these systems are another great immersion factor, I love mine.
My sim pit chair is made of an all steel frame with a Tacoma sport truck seat attached. It's adjustable and very comfortable, I've used it for racing and flying, I have a Butt Kicker attached to the frame just under the seat. Now you know why I like the GAU-8 so much, lol
