Snoopy Snoopy...VR might be put on my next shopping list, or relocated to the backburner if I take the wife on a cruise for our anniversary ...Tough choice ;)

Oh I feel ya! Just purchased a 3080, so my "justification" of purchasing anything else for this hobby near-term is a firm no currently from the wife.

TrackIR on a large monitor will fit the bill for now :)

I just keep reminding my wife that this hobby is cheaper than a Harley

Been my sentence as well - especially considering right now in the season our family is in with both babies under 2, I forsure have no other "guy" time at all. Basically work, come home - start the second duty of watching the boys and giving her relief, and then sleep/repeat. Its not like I am heading out and hanging out with friends or watching football games. Haha so I attempt to justify just 1 2hr timeslot for a DCS flight per week. But sometimes (understandably) that is even hard to justify when the house is chaos occasionally in the evenings.

Its super tough to even try to sit down and concentrate on anything when crying/screaming is happening... and yes Knoa loves to scream as soon as someone sets him on the ground LOL

Just taking it day by day right now in this season we are in... they wont be little forever!

Dont judge me, I use Aitrack + Opentrack

It works well when it works, can be a bit jittery at times, but nonetheless a great entry point if you have a good lighting settup and a decent webcam

I am sure that has come a long ways. Do you ever have issues while in the heat of the moment, during BFM - or going into the merge and such?

Definetly, mostly in bad light situations, but precisions wise it isnt great, thats why I ussually have trouble aligning the JHMCS or IHADSS, its hard for me haha, it sometimes lenghens the startup, or makes it unbearable, so most of the times I try to be as close as I can, and in merges it depends on the angle of where I am looking, I can easily look over to my 6 o clock, but if its a vertical fight, I am definetly zooming out, because if opentrack decides to mess up the aitrack inputs, cause aitrack tracks my face very well, but very often its bottlenecked by opentrack not being able to "read" the inputs and it just glitches out, so yeah, thats pretty much the experience

This is why I would still recommend TrackIR if able (unless if VR is doable). But good lord, even the used prices are still extremely expensive years later... Like come on!
