Good morning, Boss! Happy to be here!
My name is Amelia; friends call me "Amy," and squadron mates call me "Mower." I earned the callsign when I briefly tried to fly with vUSLANTCOM back in 2021. I'm 36 years young and I've been doing the flight simulation thing for a long, long while. I originally hail from the Great State of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!), and I currently live in the Charlotte, NC metro region after relocating in 2020 with my partner.
A small taste of my Flight Simming Background:
- Started playing Falcon 4.0 back in 1998 when it first came out. Begged for a cheap joystick to play it with too!
- Pretty long history with Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2. (If you know, you know, and you had a cool childhood)
- After coming to the conclusion that at the time I originally got into DCS (2020-2021) that my machine wasn't adequate, I did a lot of ATC/GCI/AWACS related stuff for different communities. Some of y'all may have heard of the GCI "SHOWTIME" on Hoggit's Syria at War (when it was a thing). That was me!
Why am I here?
The main reason I'm here is because I, like many of y'all, share a love of combat aviation and the intricacies that go into it. I come from a place of wanting to learn as much of and work with this game-- this simulator-- and know as much as I reasonably can from the F-16 module. Having read through and looked at all of the materials you guys have available, I feel like this will be the place to cut my teeth and actually get my hands dirty. I'm super excited to begin learning with y'all, and can't wait for Orientation night.
