Our next DCS update will introduce the initial version of the Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC). This powerful tool, initially released for the F-16C and F/A-18C, enables players to set up radio communication and countermeasures replicating the functionality in real-world squadrons. This week we released the highly anticipated Iraq map into early access. This is a great addition to DCS and represents one of the most important combat theaters of the late-20th and early 21st centuries. The Iraq map captures the rich history, diverse geography, and pivotal battlefields of the region. The focus of this initial, Northern region, is provided to support missions and campaigns mainly pertaining to the Global War on Terror and ISIS. In light of some questions from our community, we have expanded our article exploring the intricate navigation system of the DCS: F-16C Viper. In this white paper, we update you on how the aircraft combines its Inertial Navigation System (INS) with the Global Positioning System (GPS) by processing both data streams through a Kalman filter to provide precise and reliable navigation data.
